Feast

Milky, strong-edged fingers,
Comforting by possessing,
Pierce the resistance;
Bitterness rolling together,
Brittle daylight's capitulation to the salty flesh
Smeared with vinegar and singing

Present yet not present.
So much inside though without,
Warm, red darkness of a vast glowing room.
Formless twin forms
Selfish in melting,
Composed of vivid greed.

Pregnant layers simmer and froth,
A brimming hush, abstemious, 
Gleaming and flecked with sun
Surges to pooled celebration.
